Being intercultural is a key to living a meaningful life in the current and future world.

Being intercultural is about knowing how human diversity affects one’s identity development, work competence, and life itself. Diversity is all around us. It encompasses both local and global diversity.

Why does the Helix model work?

Akiko Maeker is a professional coach who is proficient in English and Japanese and specializes in developing intercultural competence and leadership in others. She holds a B.A. in Intercultural Studies from Kobe College, Japan, and an M.A. in International and Intercultural Education from the University of Minnesota, USA. She is a qualified IDI (Intercultural Development Inventory) administrator/interpreter and an ICF (International Coach Federation) certified coach. She is originally from Takarazuka, Japan and currently lives in St. Paul, Minnesota, USA.
